FOXBORO — Erling Haaland was candid in his match preview.
After Norway's win over Senegal, Haaland was asked to preview his team's final group stage match against France at Boston Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts on Friday, June 26.
"Honestly couldn't care too much about that," Haaland told FOX Sports in an interview after Norway's 3-2 win over Senegal on June 22. "We managed to get through (to the knockout round), which is incredible. I couldn't care too much about that game (vs France). They're probably going to win against us. They're probably going to win the whole tournament."
Haaland, along with 10 other typical Norway starters, are not in the starting lineup vs. France, likely prioritizing rest over clinching the top spot in Group I. Norway earned a spot in the Round of 32 for the first time since 1998.
Haaland has four goals in the World Cup thus far, as does France star Kylian Mbappé. Both trail Argentina's Lionel Messi (5) for the most in the tournament so far.
