Athlon Sports released its preseason All-American teams, placing Duce Robinson on the first team there as well as All-ACC, where he was joined by defensive lineman Mandrell Desir, linebacker Chris Jones and defensive back Ja’Bril Rawls on the second and running back Ousmane Kromah, receiver Micahi Danzy and defensive lineman Daniel Lyons on the third.

A great story from Ira Schoffel on offensive lineman Jayden Todd, who helped save the life of a man during a fishing trip on the Homossa River:

One man was unconscious in the water, only being kept afloat by a life jacket. Another man was trying to drag him back to the boat. And two women were waving frantically for help.

“They were saying to call 9-1-1, we think he’s having a heart attack,” Todd recalled.

Before his boat had even stopped moving, Todd leaped into the river and swam over to the other watercraft.

“They weren’t able to pull the guy up from the water because he was a bigger guy,” Todd said.

Having a 6-foot-6, 314-pound offensive lineman on the scene improved the situation dramatically.

“Moving someone who is unconscious in the water is very hard,” Jake Fischer, a corporal with the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Unit, told Warchant. “If it was anybody else, it would have been very difficult to get him back in the boat. And they said Jayden just did it with ease. Him being able to do that was a huge part of saving that guy.”

Our schedule preview series is out of September and now fully in conference play, with NoleThruandThru taking a look at the matchup vs. the Virginia Cavaliers:

Jon Loesche wrote on Florida State’s eyebrow-raising slide in the Director’s Cup, a major blow for a program that fancies itself as a multi-sport contender:

FSU track and field earned some major honors on Friday, with senior Shenese Walker named the 2026 ACC Women’s Outdoor Performer of the Year and freshman Rylee Blade the Women’s Freshman of the Year:

Walker becomes the third person in program history to receive the award for the outdoor season and the first person to sweep both the indoor and outdoor yearly awards in the same season. Blade is the fifth FSU woman to earn Freshman of the Year honors.

Walker, who was recently named a semifinalist for the Bowerman Award given to the top track and field athletes in the nation, opened her individual season on April 18 at the Tom Jones Memorial Invite with a school- and ACC-record time of 10.80 seconds. The mark stood as the second-fastest time in the world for nine consecutive weeks. Walker remains the fastest Jamaican in the world this year and ranks fifth all-time in collegiate history and eighth in Jamaican history

At the ACC Outdoor Championship, Walker was named the women’s MVP for the second time in her career after pulling off double victory in the sprints with 20 total points. Walker qualified for her third and final NCAA Outdoor National Championship in the 100, winning the 100-meter race in 10.88 seconds to edge out world leader and collegiate record holder Adaejah Hodge of Georgia in the finals.

Walker won the program’s third national title in the event and the first since Michelle Finn in 1985. The Jamaica native’s victory also marked Florida State’s 22nd national champion of all-time and the program’s first since Colleen Quigley in 2015.

Blade concluded a remarkable debut collegiate season by setting two school records and earning first team All-America honors. In April, Blade broke the Florida State record in the women’s 5,000 meters at the Penn Relays, clocking a time of 15:29.45. She then became the first freshman in Florida State history to win the women’s 10,000 meters at the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, capturing the title in record-setting fashion with a personal-best and meet-record time of 32:35.75.

The California native advanced to her first national championship after placing fourth in the 10,000 meters at the NCAA East First Round. Blade then finished seventh in the event at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, earning First-Team All-America honors while setting a new Florida State school record and U20 American record with a personal-best time of 32:08.83.

Florida State women’s tennis placed five players on on the 2025-26 All-ACC Academic Team — sophomore Mary Boyce Deatherage, juniors Laura Putz and Eva Shaw, and seniors Tina Li and Kristyna Lavickova:

To be eligible for the All-ACC Academic Team, student-athletes must have completed at least one full academic year at their institution, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher, earn a 3.00 GPA or better over their most recent two semesters (or three quarters), and compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests.

Deatherage earned All-ACC Academic Team honors for the second consecutive season. Deatherage finished second on the team in singles victories while adding 15 doubles wins.

Lavickova collected her second career All-ACC Academic Team honor after also earning CSC Academic All-District recognition earlier this year. The senior finished her collegiate career with 51 combined victories.

Li earned her second All-ACC Academic Team selection in as many seasons at Florida State. Across her four-year collegiate career, she totaled 61 singles wins and 59 doubles victories for 120 career wins.

Putz received her third consecutive All-ACC Academic Team honor and was also named CSC Academic All-District earlier this year.

Shaw earned her second career All-ACC Academic Team recognition. She led the Seminoles with 13 singles victories this season. She also finished the year ranked No. 103 in the final ITA singles rankings.

FSU softball officially announced the signing of Ella Dodge on Friday:

Dodge played two seasons at Tennessee after redshirting her freshman season in 2024. Dodge helped the Lady Vols to two National Semifinal appearances at the Women’s College World Series in 2025 and 2026. The infielder from Bradenton, Florida, started 110 games in two seasons in Knoxville including starting all 61 games in the 2026 season. Dodge hit .265 with 18 home runs and 61 RBI in two seasons, but her production saw a nice jump in the 2026 season. Dodge hit 11 home runs and drove in a team-leading 46 runs in her redshirt sophomore campaign. Dodge was also a threat on the base pasts as she stole 11 bases on 13 attempts which was second on the team.

Dodge has also been very reliable in the infield as she posted a .967 fielding percentage in 304 attempts. Dodge primarily played second base for the Lady Vols but also saw time at third base and in the outfield.

Dodge attended Lakewood Ranch High School and was ranked a top 100 player in the 2024 class by Extra Innings Softball. Dodge is the youngest of six children and is the daughter of Shannon and Robert Dodge. Her mom, Shannon, played softball at USF from 1997-99.

Men’s tennis also placed five — Mohammad Alkotop, Corey Craig, Justin Lyons, Luis Felipe Miguel and Erik Schiessl:
