For one of the best running backs in Penn State history, a chance to display his elite traits one last time for NFL scouts won't be happening.
After breaking a bone in his foot during Senior Bowl drills, Nick Singleton will be forced to sit out during the premier event. While he will not participate, the rumors are that he will be good to go before the NFL draft on April 23rd. Still, the injury has not stopped certain teams from meeting with him. One of the teams most interested in Singleton's services were his in-state team, the Philadelphia Eagles. He also held talks with the Bucs, Vikings, and Saints as well.
Joining the Eagles would see him join a backfield with fellow Penn State legend Saquon Barkley. Singleton actually broke Barkley's school records for most rushing touchdowns by a player with 45 and scored the most total touchdowns in program history with 55. The Eagles could be glad to have him back.
For now, Singleton will be cheering on his teammates on the sidelines, as both Drew Allar and Kaytron Allen look to boost their draft stock. Penn State's Pro Day takes place today at Holuba Hall.
