If there’s one thing the Philadelphia Eagles have made clear over the last decade, it’s that they love Penn State running backs. They selected former Nittany Lions star Miles Sanders in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, and now they have his former teammate, Saquon Barkley.

After inking a historic two-year, $41 million extension following his team’s Super Bowl victory last year, there’s no way he’ll be leaving any time soon. However, that won’t stop the Eagles from finding talented backs to take some of the load off of Barkley.

Johnny McGonigal of PennLive says that Philadelphia will reportedly host former Penn State running back Nicholas Singleton this week for a pre-draft visit. Like Sanders and Barkley, he’d be the next Pennsylvania native to play running back for the Eagles if they were to draft him.

The benefits of adding Singleton would be that his running style is similar to Barkley and he is already used to playing in a crowded backfield. When asked at the combine how he would feel about playing alongside the star running back, Singleton told reporters, “To stay home, play with Saquon, that would be really cool.”

These visits don’t always mean teams are enamored with the players they host, but the signs are there that make this meeting just a bit more meaningful.
