Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Nick Martinez, who pitched the 2024 and 2025 seasons for the Cincinnati Reds, was named an MLB All-Star for the first time.
Martinez and Ceddanne Rafaela are replacing Ranger Suarez and Aaron Judge on the American League roster.
Martinez, 35, is 7-2 with a 2.61 ERA and 1.130 WHIP through 17 starts this season, his first with the Rays.
Earlier in the week, The Athletic named Martinez as one of the 10 biggest 2026 MLB All-Star Game snubs.
Martinez was 21-21 with a 3.83 ERA in 82 appearances over the previous two seasons for Cincinnati.
The Reds granted Martinez free agency at the end of the 2025 season.
