In some surprising news on a Friday morning, with the 2026 NFL draft approaching, the Indianapolis Colts and Kenny Moore have agreed to mutually seek a trade.

After sharing our initial analysis on the news, along with three reasons why this is happening, let's check in on how the rest of the NFL world is responding to this report.

NFL world reacts to Colts and Kenny Moore trade news

Easily one of my favorite all-time Colts. Definition of an underdog and leader.

That said, I’m not shocked the Colts are looking for a trade. It’s a crowded cornerback room and someone had to be the odd man out. https://t.co/uSLdRpjJZ5

Big shakeup in Colts' leadership for 2026 with Moore exiting behind mainstays Pittman Jr. and Franklin. https://t.co/XHoNTAQYD3

This just ruined my day https://t.co/qPdOSNJUPU

Big fan of his game. Wait & see if you get that nickel on draft night https://t.co/mIZ2fvv8OD

oh this one hurts https://t.co/KIQTxmQk79

Moore has been a mainstay with the Colts since 2017. From UDFA to captain, Pro Bowler, and arguably the best slot CB in the NFL. Not to mention everything he’s done in the Indy community.

Another Colts’ locker room leader likely heading elsewhere this offseason. https://t.co/bWgWWytn11

Another Colts veteran available via trade

When healthy he's been one of the best slots in the league and with the Colts CB room very deep at this point a change does make sense

Will be weird seeing Moore suit up elsewhere though https://t.co/5Jl8DwwdXK

Still a solid nickel corner. Weird timing but I'd imagine after the draft a team that misses out on the nickel class will get a deal done. https://t.co/0byrpGi9om

Whoa. That's some Friday news.

Justin Walley time, come on down. https://t.co/erkODWVrM5

Outside cornerback shoots up the Colts draft needs now with Walley likely moving into the slot.

Personally don’t have much faith in Mooney’s health, Taylor-Britt’s play, and Blackmon/Edwards’ readiness

Really weird timing for the Colts and Kenny Moore II trade. Colts have a few major needs and very few avenues to fill them by training camp. Plenty of cap space though.

So dumping another starter for what likely won’t be a big return seems odd at this moment

From a pure leadership standpoint, the #Colts this offseason will have moved on from WR Michael Pittman Jr., LB Zaire Franklin, and soon CB Kenny Moore.

Three pillars of the franchise who did a lot on the field—but were just as significant off the field and in the locker room. https://t.co/w60WNXyD99pic.twitter.com/kHHpejrv8s
