According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has already been disciplined by the NFL and served his suspension from last season.
"First of all, I want to go to the disciplinary part, because for Rashee Rice, he was already disciplined essentially for what he was in jail for," Rapoport said. "That was a probation violation. He had already been disciplined for that infraction. So, I wouldn't expect, from my understanding, anything new there disciplinary-wise."
Rapoport, as part of his training camp report on Wednesday, believes the NFL is unlikely to pursue an additional suspension following the wide receiver's recent 30-day jail sentence.
"Now, football-wise, here's what we know," Rapoport said. "Obviously has missed some time, battled injuries the last couple of years. When he is right, when he is looking like the electric playmaker that the Chiefs know he can be, this is a very, very good offense."
Rapoport would continue to stress to his broadcast colleague Brian Baldinger the impact of a healthy and available Rice this season. Mahomes continues to work his way back to form after knee surgery, further enhancing the importance of the former SMU standout.
Rice finished the 2025 season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 10.8 yards per reception.
