Malik Willis will not be the Arizona Cardinals' starting quarterback in 2026. While it was rumored that the Cardinals had interest in the Green Bay Packers backup quarterback, Willis is going to join the Miami Dolphins.

He is reportedly getting a three-year contract worth $67.5 million with $45 million guaranteed. That is less than the rumored $30 million per-year average he might get.

Willis was connected to both the Cardinals and the Dolphins. Miami's new head coach is Jeff Hafley, who was the Packers' defensive coordinator last season. New Cardinals head coach Mike LaFleur is the younger brother of Packers head coach Matt LaFleur, and new Cardinals offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett was on Green Bay's staff last year.

Willis has only started six games in his four-year NFL career and has attempted only 155 career passes.

The Cardinals are releasing quarterback Kyler Murray, so that will leave only Jacoby Brissett and Kedon Slovis on the roster. Brissett went 1-11 as a starter last season, losing the final nine games of the year. Slovis has two career NFL passing attempts.

What's next for the Cardinals at quarterback

The Cardinals are expected to sign a quarterback.

Jimmy Garoppolo is an option. After they are released, Kirk Cousins and Geno Smith are options as well.

They could also wait until the draft and select one there.
