There are four divisional round games this weekend for the NFL, with the winners advancing to the conference championships next week. The Saturday games look largely unaffected by the weather. But Sunday could be different. We are tracking the potential for snow and brutal cold for those two playoff games.
The Bills will travel to Denver and take on the top-seeded Broncos Saturday afternoon. Even though this will be a road game for the Bills, I'm assuming they will gladly take the sunshine and highs near 40 degrees over the snow and feels-like temperatures in the 20s in Buffalo. I’m not saying it’s going to be warm in Denver by any means, but when comparing both cities, 20 mph wind gusts and wind chills in the 30s don’t sound that bad.

A sunny and seasonable Saturday is on tap in Seattle with highs in the low 50s. Great weather for those tailgating! Keep in mind the game will start at 5 p.m. PT, which is right after sunset, so expect temperatures to drop into the 40s during the game. Winds will remain light, so don’t expect impacts to the passing game.
(FULL FORECAST: Seattle, Washington)
Foxborough may look like a winter wonderland Sunday afternoon/evening as a coastal low brings the chance for snow to New England. Snowfall of 1-3 inches will be possible Saturday into Sunday, according to our latest forecast. Although accumulations will be minor, falling snow will create visibility issues and a slippery field. At least the wind won’t be an issue as temperatures hover in the 30s throughout the game.
It’s safe to say the weather will likely benefit the Patriots when taking on a warm-weather team like the Texans, especially since the Texans play their home games indoors. Playing football in the snow is not out of the ordinary for the Patriots. In fact, many of you probably remember the “Tuck Rule” Game, a nickname referring to the AFC Divisional Playoff game when the Patriots ruled victorious over the Raiders at home in January of 2022.
Oddly enough, Boston is in a snow drought and about 10 inches below average as of mid-January. While the snow will make for a messy playoff game, snow lovers may rejoice as snow has been hard to come by this season so far.

The Rams will not only be on the road, but will have to endure brutally cold conditions as they face the Bears in Chicago this Sunday. While this game probably won’t go down as one of the coldest games in Soldier Field history, it will certainly be one to remember.
Wind chills will drop into the single digits, close to zero during the game once you factor in sustained winds between 10-20 mph and gusts as high as 30mph.
Frostbite can develop in as little as 30 minutes on any exposed skin, so please dress in layers, cover any and all exposed skin and bring plenty of hand and foot warmers if you are going to the game.
And if the cold wasn’t bad enough, throw some light snow into the mix. Yes, the key word is “light.” But combine light snow with gusty winds and you get a “snow globe” effect. That means reduced visibility and slippery conditions.
