Belichick had a losing record overall and in 3 of 4 years with Cleveland....
yea but what is the actual % of losing coaches going on to succeed as HC elsewhere? I know it's pretty damn low. Pete Carroll? There are some older examples like Mike Shanahan. But honestly not many. I'd rather not risk a losing coach with a boring offense who comes from a losing organization right back into another one.

These are some sad lists.

And the notion we'd consider bringing Kyler back... yikes. Any chatter involving that had better just to be an attempt to create a trade market.

Michael Bidwill declined to commit to paying top-of-the-market rates to the most in-demand coaching candidates:“I’m not gonna negotiate the contract here with you. But we’re looking forward to going out there and putting a winning coach in this position."

Belicheck was also eight games under .500 through five seasons in Cleveland.

Pete Carroll was eight games over .500 in New England.

Mike Shanahan was 8-12 in one-plus seasons in Oakland then one immediately in Denver.

I think the TEN and CLE jobs are better than ARI or LV
Really? In TEN, huge question marks exist behind Cam Ward (not to mention his injury), but you'll have to ride with him, and there's not much talent on either side of the ball.

CLE is in absolute QB purgatory, worse than us, has no WRs, and is a bad place to live compared to ARI or LV.

Not claiming we have a great opening either, but those two seem particularly rough.

The Cards cap situation is also bad. At least until we get Kyler off the books.

Cam looks like a keeper and TEN also has an all-world interior defender. I think they’ll make the playoffs before the Cards do.

Cleveland’s three best players are head and shoulders above ours. Their QB situation with Shadeur is arguably better than ours. Maybe their owner is ready to keep spending money while also listening to his football people.
I posted before seeing this reply. I don't know how what Cam did makes him look like a keeper. I'd be a very, very nervous Tennessee fan.

Shedeur posted the worst qualifying QBR in the league in NFL history this year. Outside of one big game, he's been booty cheeks. They're going to need a new QB almost worse than us. At least we still have Jacoby under contract.

Was a great coach at Stanford...ran an NFL style system. Spent 2024 with the Broncos and 2025 with the Lions.

Hes still only in his early 50s. I think he could be a sneaky good out of the box hire.

Myles Garrett, Denzel Ward and who? Over McBride, Wilson, and Sweat? Their QB situation has Watson on the books for an 80 mil cap hit. They are 12 mil over the cap. Jerry Jeudy is worse then MHJ and costs more. Strong disagreement on this.

Re; the Titans...just evaluating by key positions

QB - Ten
WR - AZ
WR - AZ
LT - AZ
DT - Ten
EDGE - AZ

None of that factors in Trey McBride, Nolen or the possibility that Gannon's staff could coach up young players.

I see the espn list here but think we should consider some college coaches also. Running NFL style balanced systems-
Not air red - but fundamentally sound systems.
Kyler should compete against a top draft pick - he would be hard to beat out - as well he should be. Both should have value at the right time.

Who's the top draft pick you would like Kyler to compete against? There's only one first round QB in this draft and he's going to go number one overall. The rest of the guys that are being pontificated in the first round, honestly shouldn't even be considered until the third round. If the Cardinals reach for any of them at number three they are f****** stupid.

Our owner is what makes top coaches not wanna come here, he's cheap & won't hire a president of football operations person. Other owners put everything into the team to make them better, not MB. A good owner makes a job more attractive.

Yeah a huge factor to me is the division you play with in. Part of Tom Brady’s greatness was in part because they essentially started every season 6-0 bc he got to play the god awful perennial losers that were the Jets, Dolphins and Bills…Those teams were like historically bad for 15 years.

To that point, you would much rather play in the AFC North (CLE) or AFC South (TEN)

I wonder if Shula would bring in Zac Robinson as his OC. I thought Robinson did a good job with the offense and utilizing London, Bijan and Pitts. Dwayne Ledford is the OL coach and run game coordinator in Atlanta and he did a good job with that unit as well.
Falcons fans wanted Zac Robinson gone for a while

I can see Tennessee being a better spot than us, but I disagree with Cleveland.

Jesse Minter, defensive coordinator of Chargers. I think he is 42 or 43. We need to keep a young guy in charge. And I think a defensive guy still is the way to go to get the best out of recent draftees and signings.

Joe Brady as HC, and Raheem as DC. No matter what...it has to be an offensive mind as HC

lol why in the world do so many of you want Stefanski ? You do realize his offensive scheme is inept… Petzing came from there.. never won.. what in the world am o missing ?
Irrelevant.

Drew Petzing was hired because he worked with Gannon in Minnesota. He never called plays.

Stefanski took over a horrible franchise that had previously gone 0-16. Two 11 win season with two different QB’s until Jimmy Haslam blew up everything with the Watson trade and fully guaranteed contract. Btw he’s STILL on the book for $81 million next year despite not playing.

He was a hot topic for nfl HC about a decade ago.
I like it.
Sneaky good hire imo.
And he can raid a couple pretty good staffs for assistants.

Good call man!

This was embarassing as well.

All he needed to say is we will spend whatever it takes to put a winner on the field. But the cheap bastard inside of him couldn’t even choke out that platitude because he knew it would be a flat out lie.
