McCarthy is a worse version of Tomlin. All the same out of date schemes, none of the "leader of men"/personality management. McCarthy is 9 years OLDER than Tomlin. His rosters always underperform their talent level, and its been obvious hes the reason why because his game management is horrible.

He would have been fine for us, its very possible to get a coach worse than McCarthy. But you also are a fool if you think McCarthy can win a superbowl in the modern NFL.

For the Steelers he is BY FAR the worst hire they could have made.
Bigger fool to think any coach short of Jesus Christ himself is going to win a Super Bowl here.

So out of date he went 12 and 5 3 years in a row with the Dallas Cowboys….. if that’s out of date give me some of that
He would have been a fine hire for us. He's a coach that can act as a stabilizing force for a dysfunctional franchise. I just think its a terrible choice for the Steelers.

You know , all this talk about a head coach, does it really matter?
Whoever comes here will not be given all the tools needed to win because “Bidwill can’t operate like the big boys”.
He will be given the bare minimum with the hope of catching lightning in a bottle.
I won’t stop watching but I really have to question our sanity supporting this minor league NFL team.
This is exactly where my Cardinals fandom currently is as well. Andy Reid wouldn't have succeeded here.

We might luck out here.

I think the Browns will go with Schwartz. So would just be us, Bills and Raiders left, and still some good options on the table.

Although I see Klay Kubiak thinks everyone left sucks and withdrew all interest.

So funny that the Steelers are an organization that many fans on this board look up to and wish we could achieve their level of success…. They hire Mike McCarthy. They would’ve clown the Cardinals for making such a move. The guy with a Super Bowl win and a 61% winning percentage as a head coach. Can’t make this stuff up.

I like McCarthy for the Steelers. They have had issues with OC's and McCarthy fixes that problem. His 3 seasons in Dallas before his last 7-10 season he went 12-5, 12-5, 12-5. Only ever had 5 season below .500. And he only went 7-10 because Cooper Rush had to start 8 games.

Did you see how bad Cooper Rush was in his one Ravens game this year? McCarthy went 4-4 with him.

He's also a Pittsburgh guy and a Steelers fan, this is his dream job.

No excuse for Cards not to call McDermott now. Only three choices for him. Only positive the Raiders have over us is the #1 pick. Lousy owner but has means to pay more than others. Cards and Browns have ownership warts as well. All have roster needs in many areas except the Browns have a good defense. Odds are he will go elsewhere or take a year off.
Cardinals & Browns ownership may both have warts, but the Bidwill warts are more in line with genital warts lol.

Translation: The reporters know nothing. Morris would be a DC candidate for LaFluer. Could easily also be Vance with Webb in tow. Heck, they could be working on McDermott in the background. We just don't know a got damned thing.

LaFleur with Morris as a DC is probably something I can get behind. I like the idea of having a coordinator with prior HC experience when hiring a first time coach. And they had a year together in 23 with the rams if memory serves me well.

lol and that was from a weak division….i am scratching my head on this as well….
The only thing that actually makes sense is he's been identified as a possible DC for a candidate like Lafleur, and they are getting ahead of the interview process so they can move quick on him, if it's Lafleur
