Whilst that would be nice, the problem is if any of these promising offensive talents actually perform here as OC they are more than likely 1 and done as someone will take them as a HC the following year. That's why I would prefer a Offensive minded HC, keep a clear consistent message for whatever young QB we may draft this year or next.
I understand your point, and I agree to some extent, but on the other hand, I don't consider it a big problem to have someone that is too good.

Yikes! Don’t think this will play well with the Arizona fan base!

This speech is 100x more infamous than the "who took the bus" speech. Goofy, I can deal with as long as the players respect him. But this guy comes off as a blithering idiot. This is a meathead without an ounce of charisma, every single Dolphin had him completely tuned out. He is the perfect embodiment of the New Jersey douchebag stereotype.

But he did have a great year in Jacksonville, he definitely is a good football mind, and stereotypes probably don't fully encompass who he is as a person. Hopefully he doesnt turn out to be a prick as a headcoach.

Bidwill loves hiring Catholic school guys too. Gannon, Arians, Whisenhunt, etc.

Kingsbury was a Keim hire all the way. Thought he was the next McVay.
McVay? No way. But of course, he didn't inherit the incompetent Jeff Fisher roster either. McVay was set up for greatness and proved it by his record. Everyone wants the next McVay,

Campanile is #22 on Ringer's top 30 HC Candidates

This is how much we suck, we’re interviewing a first year DC. Can you imagine if Nick Rallis had gotten a job after his first year as our DC…What a joke.

And he could be good, but the odds of this working out are extremely low.

Kenny Dillingham is my first phone call. Would be the young, energetic offensive mind that the team needs to be successful.
Kenny Dillingham is my first phone call if I’m looking for a young, energetic DoorDash driver.

Love what he’s doing at ASU, but let’s let him start shaving before we ask him to lead a NFL locker room.

Don’t get me wrong, if it’s him or VJ, at least give me the guy with upside rather than a retread.

And we just have to acknowledge this is who we are…The organization that doesn’t get to hire the top/proven candidates. We have to swing for the fences and hope to get lucky. Which means taking a risk on a guy a year or two before he should conventionally be considered.

Hiring outside of the box is how we got BA… you never know.. but ya, we’re basically hiring a crap shoot

Someone needs to lay out point by point why this is the prevailing opinion about VJ. Is it his time as a former HC in Denver? Is it about his time as DC here under KK? Gut feelings? I dont know!
All of the above

Losing coach in Denver as HC

Subpar defense while in Arizona (he never had a top 10 defense) and his play calls at the time were infuriating.

Brings zero hope to a struggling offense.

Big no thanks from me dog.
