Some of it is schedule but much of it is since they got Melton back and Horford is somewhat healthy their bench is suddenly destroying people. Melton's plus minus is insane. 11-4 in the last 15 games. Still nowhere near good enough to compete with the top of the West but fun to watch. 3 straight games with 10 different guys making a 3, never been done in the NBA before

Jimmy Butler had a non-contact knee injury tonight. Knee went kinda sideways, looked pretty bad, couldn't put any weight on it.

Yeah I posted it in the game day thread looks like a season ender. You could see Kerr and Spoelstra talking about it after the game I think it was pretty clear it's not a minor thing. 2 guys holding him up as he went to the lockerroom.

Even if they can get a deal with Kuminga they're dead without Butler. Hield had a big run after Jimmy got hurt but Buddy is just not the guy for the long term. Sucks they are 12-4 the last 16 games but without Butler they are dead

That is a bummer, I've always liked him.

An ultra competitive guy who could not tolerate clowns. The Wolves screwed up when they dumped him in favor of Towns, the Sixers made an even bigger mistake when they dumped him in favor of Simmons.

Butler has always been one of my favorites to root for. He always brought it on the court no matter who he played for, and his impact on the team was winning.

Yeah tough situation Butler tanked to get out of Miami which I didn't like but then resurrected the W's last year. It's the same knee he had a meniscus and then an MCL surgery on before so probably going to be a long rehab.

Miami has 2 guys I had on my list in the Kuminga trade stuff, either Wiggins or Jaquez but Miami is playing well enough themselves I doubt they're going to be interested and neither one of them is good enough to replace butler.

I wasn't convinced they had a shot at a run this year anyways but they were playing really well. Since the return of Melton and getting Horford back fairly healthy they had really taken off. This pretty likely ends that.

Losing Jimmy Butler is a crushing blow for the Warriors. I wonder if they now rethink keeping Kuminga.

Until he was done with you.
Yeah, there's a lot to say in favor of Butler but this idea he gives it all, all the time, is just a history rewrite. He has quit on his team and his teammates before, and to a degree I've never seen (not even from Kobe). He's a great teammate up until he decides he's been wronged and then he becomes a nightmare.

Simmons made some sense given his age and skill set. They let Butler go to retain Tobias Harris though, which was a huge blunder. They paid him max money up until a year ago.

i always thought of him as the forward version of cp3, does great but wears on everyone, then he wants out.
He was, but he went a GIANT step further on at least one of his "wants out" moments. He actually played a game while attempting to avoid any positive move. He would pass out of wide open shots, he would stand there and let the ball bounce rather than grab the board, he played stick figure defense and so on. It was his trade-me-now move and it worked, the trade to Minnesota soon followed.
