In hindsight it appears that Nico, Dumbas, and kidd hated Doncic more than they like AD. But we see what Doncic is already doing in LA. not to mention he twice led Dallas to deep playoff runs in a short span of time. Dallas should have fired Nico, Michael Finley, and Jason Kidd instead of trading Doncic. When you have an all-time franchise player, you don't trade him. You keep him, just as they did with Dirk.

I completely agree, though I will say that even if there is a reason to trade Luka, you put him on the market and get a better deal. I can accept that maybe they have some information that leads them to believe Luka's body will break down, or something like that, but I cannot accept trading him in secret and not getting a better return in a trade. Many teams have made many stupid decisions over the years, but this one has got to be near the top of the list of stupid decisions.

Lots of speculation that he is going to get shipped off and I really wouldn't want to be the team who takes him.

He cannot stay healthy, his play has fallen off dramatically the last few years and he seems like a gigantic pain in the ass off the court.

Yeah, no thanks. Unless we want to ruin our current good vibes.

Oh, what could have been. Still, he is only 26. I've often wondered what a new environment could do for him. It would be a huge payout if it happened.

I'm glad our rookie head coach isn't manufacturing issues like this one. Or maybe it's just a matter of butting heads with his star player. Either way, not great:

Yes for sure. I think the return value for what they got for Luka is the 2nd problem that most Dallas fans have with the trade. First problem being letting Luka go to begin with.

That’s the biggest issue for me. Superstars get traded but Dallas didn’t get adequate enough assets from LA. There was still another unprotected pick and swap to be had.

Morant got their previous coach fired because he didn't like the offense... the offense was ranked #6 in the league but it was about off ball movement and he wanted the offense to run through him, the ownership sided with their star player and fired the coach, it was only a few weeks before the playoffs and they had a really good record. They promptly slid down the standings, end up in the play in game, and get swept out.

Now, only a week into a new season, he already hates his brand new coach.

We should want no part of Ja Morant. He and Booker would be a putrid fit. Morant won't play off the ball and is an awful defender.

He's the new Gilbert Arenas... albeit a bit less injury riddled.

We're fun to watch and are building a decent culture right now. If the team's energy dies off then I might hop on that wagon.

I'm wondering what is wrong with this guy to get moved a few times, then to go as a FA for a while, and finally end up on the Kings.

He's a slightly undersized at C with a game that definitely resembles a Center. He can and has played some PF but he doesn't have an outside shot. He plays a lot like Kenneth Faried. Good rebounder, decent rim protector, good finishing inside but the way the league has focused on outside shooting there isn't a lot of demand for him. He is all hustle though and would help with our size issues some. I'd much rather see him over Oso as I liked Precious coming into the draft when we took Stix. He would have been a better fit here next to Ayton since Ayton had some range on his jumper.

Precious is a solid 4/5 likely on a minimum deal. He is not going to spread the court like some other big men, but he would have been a sensible addition for the Suns while they are developing their youngsters.

Bottom line, he would have been a rotation player ready to play now. He could give them minutes at a couple front court positions.
