New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh is wasting no time reshaping his coaching staff ahead of his official introduction on Tuesday.
While reports earlier this month indicated that former Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken was expected to follow Harbaugh to East Rutherford -- pending Rooney Rule interviews for the position -- the situation has grown uncertain.
Speaking to the New York Post on Monday, Harbaugh remained cautious about Monken's potential role as offensive coordinator.
"We'll see, can’t really say right now, there's a lot of moving parts," Harbaugh said. "He's interviewing [Tuesday] for the Browns head coaching job, so there's a lot of balls still up in the NFL, that's for sure. Look at today, man. Crazy."
Harbaugh plans to meet with members of Brian Daboll’s former staff this week to evaluate possible retentions, though significant changes are anticipated.
The Giants have also requested permission to interview Vikings passing game coordinator Daronte Jones for their defensive coordinator vacancy.
