John Harbaugh begins a new chapter in his NFL coaching career this season as he takes over the reins of the New York Giants.
Harbaugh comes to the Giants after 18 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, in which he compiled a regular-season record of 180-113 and a postseason record of 13-11. One of those postseason wins was a victory in Super Bowl XLVII.
The Giants, on the other hand, have had a revolving door of head coaches since parting ways with Tom Coughlin after the 2015 season. They had six, to be exact: Ben McAdoo, Pat Shurmur, Joe Judge, and two interims in Steve Spagnuolo and Mike Kafka. The Giants went 55-109-1 over that span.
It was time the Giants faced facts and brought a man with a successful track record as a head coach in the NFL. Just their luck, Harbaugh became available after the Ravens let him go in January.
The Giants have been at the bottom of the NFL head coaching rankings since Coughlin left. With Harbaugh on board, that appears to be changing. In Sharp Football's latest NFL Head Coaching Rankings, the Giants begin this season at No. 15.
Keep in mind, Harbaugh hasn't even held his first training camp with the Giants yet. His influence has already been felt throughout the entire organization in the six months he's been on the job.
