In a surprising turn of events, the Wisconsin Badgers finally have an incoming transfer who's making some noise.
Rivals' Ari Wasserman compiled a list of 10 "fascinating transfer portal moves" and included Old Dominion quarterback Colton Joseph as a move that "could shape Wisconsin in 2026."
Joseph, who could provide a huge boost to the Badgers' quarterback room, is a dual-threat QB that could change the entire identity of Luke Fickell's offense.
"So many Wisconsin fans are already at the end of their ropes with head coach Luke Fickell," Wasserman wrote. "He was brought to Madison to turn the Badgers into a national title contender. Not only did that not happen, but the program also has no true identity and hasn’t even sniffed relevance. He deserves criticism for that."
Then, Wasserman began to defend what's happened to Fickell at the QB position, "Remember Tyler Van Dyke and Billy Edwards Jr.? This isn’t to say that Joseph is going to turn the program completely around, but he is an insanely entertaining quarterback who can run and pass. Is he the spark the Badgers need?"
At this point, all the Badgers can do is hope Joseph is able to help the team pull off a Week 1 miracle at Lambeau Field against Notre Dame. Even if that doesn't happen, some QB1 consistency would certainly make the 2026 season easier to handle.
