The trade market has received a major shakeup a few weeks out from the 2026 NFL Draft and the Pittsburgh Steelers should be monitoring the situation carefully.

According to a report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, New York Giants superstar defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence requested a trade after contract negotiations stalled. He also is set to miss the Giants' offseason workout program that begins on Tuesday.

Lawrence, selected by the Giants with the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, has received three Pro Bowls nominations and two Second-Team All-Pro recognitions in the past four seasons.

Recording 30.5 sacks, 103 quarterback hits, 341 combined tackles, and 40 tackles for loss in 109 games over the past seven seasons, Lawrence has cemented himself as one of the league's best defensive lineman and could be the missing piece the Steelers have been searching for heading into a new regime.
