So here is how it could work.

With the approval of the NBA, the Suns ownership sells the franchise to an approved Las Vegas ownership group.

In the process, current Suns ownership probably make a couple billion dollars in profit. Everyone should be happy. If desired, the Suns could negotiate to keep the name.

Afterward, Phoenix takes Las Vegas' place in line waiting for an NBA franchise.
sonics got to keep their name

Bartelstein isn’t/wasn’t involved with the Mercury front office so I’m not sure this is “improper” (allegedly). Is he married?

Yes, he is married, and he is the CEO of the Suns organization, which encompasses the Suns, the mercury and the arena.

If true, it’s incredibly scandalous for the WNBA, especially with them trading her.

The trade was very surprising at the time as she was a huge fan favorite for Mercury and did commentary for the Suns.

This makes you wonder if that is why Sophie got the analyst gig as well. You have to fire Bartelstein now if this is true. How the heck can you keep him? Well...look at the bright side, he whiffed on the GM hire, maybe this is the big change Ishbia was talking about. Probably not how he planned it but...still.

the way josh - sophie - and the team(s) haven't come out and "categorically" denied it doesn't speak well as well

im dead serious about this dude having some type of proof too - these allegations have slander written all over it if he can't back them up - but the guy is literally in risk management

cornelius craig - vp of security was allegedly the one telling people about the alleged affair

does craig still have a job? like as of today? i bet he does - i bet the lawyers told ish he couldn't fire him with a ten foot pole

if ish doesn't clean this ish up pronto this could be shortest ownership in nba history

Maybe someone needs to give the NBA, ESPN and Baxter Holmes a call.

Sadly, I'm concerned Suns ownership may have found a way to break fandom.

Only time will tell.

A younger team with fire will bring that back. The Valley Suns were good this year. Sadly I had to get my quality basketball fix elsewhere but I'm looking forward to seeing the Gauchos become a quartet this off-season.

Only thing that will keep me from getting interested in the direction of the Suns is if they run it back with the mid 3 and Fizdale as the coach.

i'm still taking in this whole affair thing and the fallout yet to come - if there's any truth to it heads could roll early as tomorrow - or would ish settle out of court? everybody signs nda's to make it all go away- or is it too late for that - the silence is deafening - but then again no major syndicates have really gone with the story yet

Nah, we're resilient. Or stupid.

Watching the Suns develop young players is how I became a devoted fan, even through the bad times.

Similarly, seeing them discard young talent, plus their future draft picks seemingly on a whim, makes one question if ownership has the same loyalty.

I'm leaving that stuff to the media unless it proves to be a credible problem.
