The New England Patriots are set to begin training camp this Saturday, July 25 — with rookies and quarterbacks reporting to the team facilities today to kick things off. On this week’s episode of the Patriots Roundtable Podcast, we preview the biggest storylines surrounding the team as they prepare to put on the pads for the first time in the 2026 season.
With rookies arriving at Gillette Stadium today, all eyes are on edge rusher Gabe Jacas, who has yet to sign a contract with New England after being selected No. 55 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. Jacas wasn’t present at the team facilities today, continuing a trend of absences that dates back to rookie minicamp. If Gonzalez isn’t signed soon, could we see him start to miss time on the field? We review.
Wide receiver Kayshon Boutte’s future in Foxboro has also been in question this summer. And yet, with every indication that New England and Boutte are on their way to a separation, he remains on the roster heading into training camp. How long will that last? Could the Patriots find a way to keep Boutte around a little while longer? We examine his outlook with the team moving forward.
One area of the roster that enters camp with little question marks is quarterback. Following Drake Maye’s MVP runner-up campaign in 2025, the Patriots loaded the deck offensively with A.J.
