New details have emerged on the altercation that New York Knicks superstar Jalen Brunson had with a San Antonio Spurs fan at courtside after their Game 1 win in the NBA Finals.

On Wednesday night, the Knicks quieted a lot of doubters around the NBA. Many around the sport thought the Western Conference champs and Victor Wembanyama were too good and would dominate New York after scoring a Game 7 victory over the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder.

However, after four hard-fought quarters, the Knicks overcame a 14-point deficit in the second half and ended up earning a 10-point victory in the opening game of the 2026 NBA Finals. And to the surprise of no one, the team’s top star, Jalen Brunson, came up big when they needed it most in the fourth quarter. But there was a surprising moment immediately after the game featuring the three-time All-Star.

Following the win, Brunson was seen having a conversation with referee Scott Foster. One would assume it was about some missed calls over the course of the game. However, the Knicks guard could be seen talking to someone at the scorer’s table, and he did not seem happy. It was awkward enough that teammate Jose Alvarado looked to divert his captain away from the conversation.

Well, some information has emerged on what the moment was all about. According to NBA on Prime reporter Chris Haynes, the league is looking into two courtside fans who allegedly directed some vulgar and profane “flopping” comments at the Knicks star late in Game 1 of the Finals.

“Brunson met with official Scott Foster after the game to address the fans’ behavior, to which the remarks continued,” Haynes wrote in a post on X.

Brunson is a cool cucumber and is known for being unfazed no matter the situation. Obviously, those Spurs supporters must have something pretty ridiculous to make him feel he needed to talk to Foster about these particular fans.
