Javon Hargrave's new contract with the Green Bay Packers is worth $23 million over two seasons, includes a $10.5 million signing bonus and features a $3 million roster bonus due in 2027, creating a mid-contract decision point for the team.
Hargrave's base salary in 2026 is only $1.6 million, allowing for a low Year 1 cap number of $7,705,882. His cap number balloons to $15,250,000 in 2027, but the Packers can save $10 million on the cap next year by releasing him.
Hargrave, who turned 33 in February, will make $13 million in cash in 2026. It's possible this deal will end up being nothing more than a one-year, $13 million pact considering the player's age and the potential savings come 2027.

The only guaranteed money in the contract is the $10.5 million signing bonus. Come 2027, the Packers will have to decide whether to pay Hargrave's $3 million roster bonus or move on. He is due $10 million in cash in 2027.
The Packers had to pay up to get Hargrave, who was released by the Minnesota Vikings to start the new league year. By yearly average ($11.5 million), Hargrave ranks 30th among all interior defenders. He'll also have the eighth highest individual cap hit on the Packers roster (once Nate Hobbs is removed as a post-June 1st designation).
Hargrave signed a two-year, $30 million deal featuring $19 million guaranteed with the Vikings in March of 2025. Minnesota will count roughly $10.5 million on their cap in the form of dead money for Hargrave in 2026.
According to Over the Cap, Hargrave has made over $121 million in his NFL career, including his signing bonus with the Packers.
