The Green Bay Packers are signing former Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Javon Hargrave to a two-year deal worth up to $23 million, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Hargrave, who turned 33 in February, was released by the Vikings on Wednesday.

The signing gives the Packers a starting-caliber defensive tackle -- helping the roster's biggest offseason need -- and reunites Hargrave with Jonathan Gannon, who was his defensive coordinator in Philadelphia during two of his most disruptive seasons.

Last year with the Vikings, Hargrave produced 31 total pressures and 20 stops over 537 total snaps. He played in 16 of 17 games for Minnesota and finished with 3.5 sacks, six quarterback hits and four tackles for loss.

While with Gannon in Philadelphia in 2021 and 2022, Hargrave had seasons of 63 pressures (91.6 PFF pass-rush grade) and 66 pressures (91.1 pass-rush grade). His 66 pressures in 2022 were a career-high; his 91.6 pass-rush grade in 2021 was a career-high.

Hargave, who began his career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, was a member of back-to-back Super Bowl losing teams, the first with the 2022 Eagles and the second with the 2023 49ers.
