American Nelly Korda fell short of winning her third consecutive major of the year at the 2026 KPMG Women's PGA Championship, but she has another shot at history beginning Thursday, July 9.

The World No. 1 is looking to become the fifth woman to win three major championships in a single calendar year when she tees off at the 2026 LPGA Amundi Evian Championship on Thursday, July 9. Babe Zaharias of the U.S. was the first woman to do so in 1950. Inbee Park of South Korea was the last to accomplish the feat in 2013.

With a win, Korda would also complete the career grand slam and have played her way into the LPGA Hall of Fame at the age of 27. Both haven't been accomplished by an American woman since Juli Inkster in 1999. To qualify for the LPGA Hall of Fame, players must accumulate 27 points by way of winning LPGA tournaments (one point), season-ending awards (one point), an Olympic gold medal (one point) or a major (two points).

Korda currently sits at 25 LPGA Hall of Fame points, not that she knows. The 2020 Olympic champion prefers it that way, previously saying she doesn't want to know how many points she needs. (The answer is two points.)

“Some people may think it's a lot of pressure,” Korda said on Wednesday. "I'm just really proud of myself for even putting myself into that position and it being talked about.”

Korda got off to a hot start this year and won the first two LPGA major championships the Chevron Championship in April and U.S. Women’s Open in June to claim the third and fourth major titles of her career. However, Korda's short game failed her at the Women's PGA Championship and she finished tied for eighth place.

The 2026 LPGA Amundi Evian Championship may be her hardest test yet.

Korda has had her least success at the Evian Resort Golf Club in France, compared to any other major. She finished in 43th place last year, with her best finishes coming in 2022 (No. 8) and 2023 (No. 9) when she cracked the top 10. The Evian Championship also marks the third major tournament in six weeks, prompting Korda to "prioritize sleep and rest."

"The scheduling of three majors in a short amount of time is definitely a lot mentally, physically," Korda said. "A week and a half ago we were in Minnesota and then this week we're in France and then kind of traveling all over.

"Making sure that you're prioritizing your body, your rests and not overdoing it. ... At this point in the season, sometimes resting is actually more beneficial."

Korda will tee off at 7:36 a.m. ET Thursday alongside Lottie Woad of England and Haeran Ryu of South Korea, who claimed the first major championship of her career at the 2026 Women's PGA Championship last month.

“After winning a major, I feel more free,” said Ryu, who became the first player to overcome a first-round deficit of at least 10 strokes since Carol Mann in 1964. "It’s less stressful for me.”

The 132-player field includes 10 past champions, including reigning champ Grace Kim of Australia. The field also includes 23 of the top 25 players in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. All are vying for part of the $9.1 million purse.
