Nebraska women's basketball (14-2, 3-2) played host to its second straight conference foe from the state of Indiana, this time taking on the Hoosiers (11-6, 0-5) in a Thursday night battle. The Huskers grabbed another win, fending off Indiana 78-73.
Nebraska initially held a close lead over the Hoosiers in the first half, going into halftime up 38-30. Indiana responded in the third quarter, tying the game at 53 heading into the fourth. But the Huskers outshot the Hoosiers in the final 10 minutes after a rough third quarter.
Nebraska landed one less shot than Indiana, despite attempting 10 more than the Hoosiers. But the Huskers managed to strike from beyond the arc and the free throw line, topping Indiana 8-4 and 14-11 respectively. Nebraska also scored off 11 turnovers by the Hoosiers, scoring 19 in the win.
Britt Prince led the way for the Huskers, scoring 20 points by going 6-of-11 from the floor and a team-high 7-of-7 from the foul line. She also earned a team-high seven assists on the night.
Jessica Petrie tallied 18 points for Nebraska, hitting a team-high 8-of-14 from the floor and hauling in a team-high seven rebounds. Logan Nissley earned 11 points by shooting 3-of-6 from the floor, 2-of-5 from three-point range and 3-of-4 at the free throw line.
Amiah Hargrove and Eliza Maupin each totaled nine points, both landing four shots in total and one shot from beyond the arc. The duo also combined for 13 rebounds, with Maupin hauling in seven, alongside Petrie, and Hargrove snatching six.
Nebraska remains home for its next major test of the season, welcoming in No. 4 UCLA for a Sunday night showdown. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT on the Big Ten Network.
