Nebraska completed on days two and three of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Thursday and Friday. More Huskers made the podium, including women's shot putter Axelina Johansson, who claimed her fourth national title.
Johansson previously snatched the 2026 indoor national title and completed her first sweep in her final season after taking the outdoor title with a throw of 19.92m (65-4 ¼), a meet record and the second-furthest mark in NCAA history. The native of Hok, Sweden, also captured both the Big Ten indoor and outdoor titles, bringing her career total to six. Johnansson is now also an eight-time All-American.
She was one of four Huskers competing in the women's shot put. Mine de Klerk also made the podium with Johansson, capturing fifth place with a throw of 17.86m (58-7 ¼). Donna Douglas finished 15th for Nebraska with a throw of 16.94m (55-7), and freshman Jolina Lange took 17th with a throw of 16.29m (53-5 ½). Other field events included the women’s javelin event, where Jana Lowka finished ninth after launching a throw of 54.02m (177-3).
On the track, the Huskers competed in three events. They started the day with the women's 4x100m relay comprised of Elo Blessing Okpah, Rajer Gurode, Victoria Aransiola and Timeke-Jade Coetzee. The team earned honorable mention All-America honors after finishing with a time of 45.03.
Kelsie Belquist punched her ticket to finals in the women's 400m hurdles, clocking in 55.94. Finals for the event are set for 7:27 p.m. CT on Saturday. Aransiola and Belquist also competed in the women's 4x400m relay, alongside Sakena Massiah and Abrielle Artley. The team finished 10th in the preliminaries, falling just short of finals after running 3:30.34.
