If you love baseball, the Nebraska metro area was the place to be this weekend. Between the Savannah Bananas and the Men’s College World Series, there was a lot of traffic between Omaha and Lincoln. I know the traffic part because we had a wedding in that area this weekend and we rolled in to eastern Lincoln just after the Bananas game was done. It was just like a Husker football day.
I usually wait until this weekend to officially proclaim the offseason for Husker sports. You will notice below that the track & field teams excelled at the NCAA championships with both the men and women finishing in the top 10. Spoiler: One NCAA meet record came home with the Huskers too.
