Nebraska's Jordy Frahm continues to make headlines on Thursday following the announcement by the Collegiate Women’s Sports Awards (CWSA) for the Honda Award. For the second time in program history, a Husker was named the winner.

The Honda Sport Award has honored the nation’s top women athletes in 12 NCAA-sanctioned sports, symbolizing “the best of the best in collegiate athletics.” For 40 years, Honda has contributed more than $3.4 million in institutional grants to support women’s athletics programs nationwide.

Frahm joins Denise Day as the only two Huskers to win the award in program history, and adds to the ever-growing list of accolades she's collected in her final season of collegiate softball. She won National Fastpitch Coaches Association, USA Softball Player of the Year, NFCA Rawlings Gold Glove pitcher and the Big Ten Pitcher of the Year. Frahm also received first-team All-American for the fourth time, becoming the 14th player ever to be a four-time first-team All-American.

In her two complete seasons with Nebraska, Frahm dominated as a two-way player, compiling a 47-14 pitching record, 43 home runs and 157 total hits. She also became the first player in collegiate history to rack up two 20-20 seasons, hitting 20 home runs and earning 20 wins in each of her final two seasons. In her entire career, she totaled 171 hits and a record of 91-17.

Frahm led Nebraska to the 2026 NCAA Women’s College World Series, their first appearance since 2013 and helped the team win its first WCWS game since 2002. She also guided the Huskers to a Big Ten regular-season and conference tournament titles. Frahm is now on the team's staff as an assistant coach.

With her win, Frahm now becomes a finalist for the prestigious Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year. The winner is to be presented live on Monday, July 27, at 6 p.m. CT on CBS Sports Network.
