Emmett Johnson is a prospect that is worth a look for the Tennessee Titans in the later rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Titans’ No. 4 overall pick this year will dictate much of their course of action in the ensuing rounds. Tennessee is forecasted to take Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love if he’s still on the board at No. 4, as the potential best overall prospect remaining.
However, Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles is also projected to land in Tennessee with the pick, as are edge rushers Rueben Bain Jr. (Miami), as well as David Bailey (Texas Tech), with varying degrees of likelihood. A wide receiver is a fourth area of need for the Titans this offseason.
In the event that the Titans forego taking a running back in the first three rounds, in favor of a defensive-oriented approach, Johnson becomes an intriguing prospect for the Titans.
Johnson’s greatest strengths are his combination of explosiveness, as well as finesse in faking out defenders laterally. He also has commendable speed in the open field. Johnson showed that he is more than capable of beating opposing teams’ last line of defense after hitting the open field on rush attempts.
The Minnesota native led the Big Ten in rushing yards in 2025 with 1,451. Johnson also scored 12 rushing touchdowns last season. He showed himself to be a capable pass-catcher with 370 receiving yards on the year.
Behind Titans starter Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears, Johnson has the the tools to be a secondary volume rusher for Tennessee. Exploiting gaps in the defense is an area in which Johnson has the potential to get even stronger. Nonetheless, his prowess in the ground game, as well as the passing attack make him a high-level target later in the draft.
