The reasonable Boston Celtics fan probably viewed the NBA offseason through the lens of trading Jaylen Brown for Giannis Antetokounmpo or no one.

As hurtful as it might be for Brown, Antetokounmpo is one of the best basketball players on the planet.

If general manager Brad Stevens believed he had a shot at making a move to acquire him, he was well within his rights to take a stab at it.

However, in the days since Antetokounmpo was dealt to the Miami Heat, the mainstream media is not content with allowing the Brown trade buzz to die.

Everyone who claims to know someone who claims to know something is obsessed with trading Brown for Boston.

I am of the opinion that teams like the Minnesota Timberwolves, Charlotte Hornets and Memphis Grizzlies making trades for starters on Thursday prove that maybe the Celtics are not as hellbent on selling the superstar guard as ESPN might have you believe.

Why would the Timberwolves, who are always seemingly one player away from an NBA Finals appearance, trade any assets before being absolutely certain that they do not have a shot at the former Finals MVP?

Why would the Hornets, who were as close as they've ever been to making the playoffs for the first time in over a decade, trade one of their best pieces while the superstar guard was still available?

The people who actually know something are the general managers of the NBA. Right now, I interpret the actions of those GMs to show that the Celtics are not actually engaging in the full-blown fire sale that the media is reporting they are.
