The Washington Nationals are, as expected, one of the worst teams in the Major Leagues this season. They've sold off a few of their top players, and more trades might be on the horizon.

One of the names to keep an extra-close eye on is shortstop CJ Abrams. There was offseason buzz with Abrams, most notably with the San Francisco Giants. But, at this year's trade deadline, Abrams might be on the move.

Abrams may be dealt, and Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report is predicting that such a scenario might happen. But Miller is also predicting that the Nationals will hold onto Abrams, as Miller is making conflicting predictions on the All-Star shortstop this year.

CJ Abrams gets conflicting trade predictions from BR

"CJ Abrams becomes this year's Steven Kwan," Miller writes. "... Their willingness to turn Abrams into two or three quality prospects is presumably much higher than Cleveland's willingness was to part with Kwan, so a deal might actually. get done this time around."

Last year, in the lead-up to the 2025 MLB trade deadline, there was plenty of buzz about the Cleveland Guardians trading away Steven Kwan.

But he remained in Cleveland instead of being shipped off. Miller made one prediction that the Nationals will follow a similar path with Abrams at this year's deadline.

Such a scenario wouldn't be too big of a surprise if the Nationals want Abrams to be one of the core players to build around for a very long time, which might not be a bad idea.

However, that wasn't the only angle Miller took on a potential Abrams deal. With the Nationals' willingness to acquire prospects being greater than the Guardians', an Abrams trade was predicted to be very much in play this year.

These two predictions from Miller go directly in contrast to one another. On one hand, Miller is predicting the Nationals will pull what the Guardians did last year with Kwan, while on the other hand, Miller is predicting Abrams is dealt for multiple prospects.

While Miller doesn't have a clear prediction for what could happen at this year's deadline, this lack of a clear prediction does make the rumors surrounding Abrams for this year's trade deadline all the more intriguing to follow.

Seeing Abrams dealt at the deadline wouldn't be a surprise, nor would it be too surprising to see Washington hold onto him. He's by far the most interesting player for this year's deadline, as almost anything is on the table with Abrams.
