No Nash, and from the sound of it probably no Diaw either. Good timing, though, right before All Star weekend. Could Nash pull out of the competition?

I'm pretty sure there's a rule that if you miss the all-star game, you're required to miss something like the next five games of the regular season.

I think it had to do with players trying to get out of the game. It is a pretty big money making weekend for the league. If it is still bugging him, I can picture D'Antoni not playing him very much.

Probably won't. I think Nash is in the skills competition as well, but I guess that wouldn't be too bad.

Lame, I'm going to the game tomorrow. I hope they don't lose because the only other game I went to this year was the one against Washington and they lost that game.

God for him to get some rest for the rest of his body, especially if he'll be forced into the all-star game. Now I'd also like to see Amare's minutes cut down a bit sometime. With how he's been playing people seem to forget that he came off a serious surgery and we'll need him in the playoffs.

imagine a season without steve nash..

ouch

Chaplin thinks everything is okay and those of us who are worried are being too hasty.

Think beyond that. If this is another vertebra issue, Nash's career could be over.

Diaw's problem could also be a disc/vertebra issue and that could threaten his season.

I'm worried. Can you tell? Without Nash, our championship window is closed. Without Diaw, it's put off till next year.

I think the suns should rest nash as much as possible.....at least if he is too injured. One thing that is standing out to me is the play of amare. The suns need him to play the way he is playing now to have a legit chance in the playoffs. They need him to play like that consistently while nash and diaw are on the court. Sometimes it seems like the suns settle for jumpers and forget about the big guy down low. Nash is the MVP......but amare is the wild card. His rebounding and defensive presence is what the suns need in order to be contenders for a title.

I'm glad he is sitting out tommorrow. Let him rest up for the second half and let our other guys get some minutes. I don't think this is a season ending injury by any means.

Wow, Stoudemire's knee problems have some people snake-bit, no venomous-desert-dweller pun intended. Sure, anyone with a spine problem is one major injury away from early retirement. But all reports are that this is a shoulder, not a spine -- something about the rotator cuff. I don't think we need to be jumping ship every time Nash gets an ingrown toenail. It's very common for a player to sit out a few games with a minor injury.

As far as Diaw goes, I frankly don't care. His play has been so poor that some time off might do him good. If both Nash and Diaw are out, the team will struggle mightily, but that's the way it goes. I hope no one was expecting to get through the season without some significant injuries, and given how thin the bench is, that automatically means trouble.

There is no rule that says he must sit out 5 games...

"e) Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in Section 1(a), (b) or (c) above, a player will not be required to participate in a particular All-Star Game, Rookie-Sophomore Game, or All-Star Skills Competition if he has been excused from participation in the particular event by the Commissioner because (i) he has an injury or illness that renders him physically unable to participate in such Game or Skills Competition, or (ii) for such other reason as the Commissioner may determine in his sole discretion. If the player asserts that he should be excused from participation in a particular All-Star game or event under Section 1(e)(i) above, the Commissioner shall be authorized to require the player to submit to a medical examination to be performed by a physician designated by the NBA, and the determination of whether the player has satisfied Section 1(e)(i) shall be made by such physician in his sole discretion. In the event that a player is excused from participation in an All-Star game or event under Section 1(e)(i) above, he shall thereafter remain on his Team’s Inactive List until he is cleared to return to the Active List by the NBA."

Suns need a 100% healthy Nash
Just give him more time to rest.

My script for tonight:
Nash sits out. Diaw sits out. The rest of the team gets fired up and inspired to make a point -- to win one for the plural Gippers. Suns play with passion and determination and they win, thus making amends for Friday night's slumber party and validating themselves, the team, this board, and Suns fans everywhere.

I like happy endings.
