Amazing how ANYONE on this board can defend the Cards trading tactics in this draft.

Anybody who comes on here and disagrees with it will eventually get bashed by the resident myopians.

Krange believes it's a good pick because he had him high on his mock draft. How many times have you seen him play, Krang?

Rlakin comes on here and questions the pick. So, Tango lays into him. Nice.

Is there a certain post count that is needed to become an "expert" or official Card fan?

...BTW, the Cards should have had another pick today. You can thank Rod Graves's bungling of the no-compensation-for-David-Boston fiasco for this.

... and, don't forget the 4th rounder we lost.

I've watched him play several times....he does happen to play at a college from my hometown, so I do watch Wake when they play on tv.

He was a reach no doubt, but I do like him, just not at 18.

Probably not at all.

I heard something interesting about Suggs several times yesterday. He got 15 of his sacks against pathetic young tackles....Russ Smith was making that argument earlier this offseason, and I think the Cards realized that.

Sly Fly...here is what you need to do.

Bend over at the waist and close your eyes.

Run forward really fast. When you encounter resistance...just give one more good push.

Congratulations!

Your head is now so far up Bill Bidwill's @ss that you can make excuses for organizational ineptitude.

Just do me one favor...tell Tango that Jake is gone and he can come out now.

Alan, it doesn't matter. He was just questioning the methods used to acquire him. They could have had him later (early 2nd).

I'm just not following the logic used by the Cards front office. It's just not Rod Graves. And, that's what scares me.

I agree with that, though taking him early in the second would have required a trade down, which is impossible without a partner.

Thanks

I am pretty upset like everyone else is. But I am trying to be humorous to make it all better for us.

If you can't laugh at the Cards...who can you laugh at?

Ultimately I think we will be okay...I just wish we could have been better than okay :(

So you've gone from myopia to rectalopia...a $hitty outlook on everything the Cards do!

Oh, I'm not totally happy.

But I'm trying to take it in stride, and make the best of it.

Pace is a nice prospect, early in the second round, or possibly late first. I would be happy if we had traded 18, to move back to about 26-33 and taken him there. I like the pick, just not the position.

Maybe. I guess I have just have a problem with people knocking players that most of them have never really seen play. I am under the belief that real scouts actually know what they are doing.

I don't particularly like the way things went down either.

I would be happier if the team had traded down again from 18 and added another pick + Pace. Pace is a player I like, but he could've been had later, like picks 27-33.

I would be happy if we could've added another pick and still gotten Pace.

That statement alone tells me you know nothing about Terrel Suggs.

How many times was he double and triple teamed, Krang?

What about the prior year? Must have gone against young tackles then, too.

How old is Suggs? Wasn't he a true Junior?? And, he led the country in sacks? As a true Junior??

The Pac-10 was not weak. Let's get that straight right now.

If if the Cards didn't like Suggs, it still doesn't justify how/what they traded.

Which is very true.

Football fans have this bad problem (myself included) of trusting "expert" opinions (that aren't even associated with an NFL team) on who is good and who is not, and what "value" they have.

Well said! I guess if you look at it like that, then it makes things a little easier. But, it's hard.

.....That is pure b.s........

I watched every single ****ing play of ASU football this year. The Pac-10 had a record number of sacks this year, and only had ONE ****ing lineman selected on the first day if I recall correctly.

Then I stand corrected, Krang.

I'm sure your miffed about the whole thing.

I just expect my team to make the best organizational decisions possible. I'm not used to seeing a team bungle things.

I guess I've been spoiled with the Suns my whole life.;)

The only Pac-10 lineman (Kwame Harris) that was selected one the first day completely owned Suggs.

Why is it that Tully Banta Cain and Rien Long, two big time PAC-10 sackmasters slipped to the second day? Rien Long looked like a top ten pick, considering the way he dominated the PAC-10, but when scouts looked at him he was a marginal prospect.

What....50 win seasons but no rings? ;)

Speaking of the Suns, I have my own rant that need to get off my chest about that organization.

That's easy to say, but they've tried. Maybe by making TOO many moves... but it's been well run from Day 1. That damn coin flip didn't make things easy.

I would rather have 50 win seasons and no ring... then 20 win seasons with 1 fluke championship.:)

No the Cards 49 (?) champion wasn't a fluke. They went back to the Championship the next year and lost to the team they beat the previous year, the Eagles.
