I agree with your sentiment, but I still struggle, especially when considering Bidwill ownership, placing it all on Monti's doorstep. There are FAR too many variables brought into the mix because of the assumed meddling of ownership. But that is assumed, though believeable.

This is however, the first season where I lean more toward total failure rather than competent, but stuck with a garbage franchise, executive . He tethered himself to this gig, I suppose. Will probably be the end of his executive career, unless actual people in the league empathize with his situation, knowing who his boss is.

we are in position, as distasteful as it is...that we need some other drivers to break down in order to catch up.

so folks need to change their perspective. winning the race aint gonna happen..so rather than lamenting that fate...one should appreciate that its a beautiful day, there are lovely young ladies patrolling the track, the beer is cold...and the ribs are about to come off the grill.
at this point finishing the race under our own power is a win.

This is an extremely stupid financial decision. You could just collect savings account interest and make more than that.

I think what would be ironic is if he did come back and the Rams had the greatest roster on paper ever assembled, and than Stafford got injured.

They wouldn't win a single playoff game if that happened.

No.

I said for 2026 with new coaches and this schedule that's what it would take.

Next year should be a lot easier, and they would likely be competitive with just a mid level QB.

It's not a terrible strategy to a point, as I tend to agree known quantity veterans typically are available for a cost that is too low in draft picks.

If you don't pick really well in the later rounds though you will end up with a pretty old team fast. But if you can pick well this may be an optimal strategy.

Okay. So what QBs would have guided the 2025 Arizona Cardinals to the playoffs?

EDIT: one or two of Brock Purdy, Matt Stafford, and Sam Darnold are going to host a playoff game next year; the only meaningful difference in their schedules is playing us for two games.

It’s more about what elite level players can do to impact a team. The gap between Verse and Josh Sweat is not big. The gap between Garrett and Sweat is a canyon. Schneider and Snead are just playing chess as GMs. John Lynch is mid but Kyle is great.
