After its worst season since 2008 — it finished with an 8-22 record and just one win during conference play — Maryland volleyball has its sights set on a bounce-back 2026 campaign.

The Terps’ path to do so got slightly clearer on Monday, as the Big Ten announced their conference schedule ahead of the season. The release highlights Maryland’s 17-match conference slate, a recent change to accommodate for the inaugural Big Ten Tournament.

In a conference that featured nine NCAA Tournament selections, Maryland will have an uphill battle to produce a winning season. But with five postseason teams and nine games at home, the Terps have a relatively favorable schedule.

Maryland will host Nebraska, USC, Michigan, Penn State and UCLA at the Pavillion. The Terps’ other home contests are against Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State and Northwestern — four teams that finished with a losing record in Big Ten play.

After logging only four victories away from College Park in Big Ten play last season, Maryland’s 2026 slate creates ample opportunities to secure its first road win in two years. The Terps travel to Oregon, Washington, Ohio State and Rutgers.

Despite being swept in its final seven matches, Maryland is hoping for an improved 2026 season.
