Asterisk Talley was set to have Miles Russell on her bag at the 2026 Augusta National Women's Amateur, a pairing of the top-two juniors in the world.
However, Russell has different plans this week, forcing Talley to go to the bullpen.
Russell tied for 15th at the Korn Ferry Tour's Club Car Championship on Sunday. His top-25 finish earned him a spot in this week's Lecom Suncoast Classic in Florida, and on Monday morning Russell was listed in the field on the Korn Ferry Tour's website.
Earlier this month, Russell and Talley wrapped up historic wins in the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley. Russell became the first boys champion to win back-to-back Junior Invitational titles, and Talley became the first girls winner to have multiple victories at Sage Valley.
Talley is the defending runner-up at the ANWA, which begins Wednesday at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Evans, Georgia. She's coming off a T-29 finish at the LPGA's Ford Championship in Arizona over the weekend.
