You’re conflating two entirely different cases.

Miles Bridges pleaded no contest to felony domestic violence against the mother of his children in 2022. He received probation, counseling, community service, and a 30-game NBA suspension. He was never charged with or convicted of child molestation.

The sandwich guy, is a convicted child sex offender serving 15+ years in federal prison for paying minors for sex and distributing child pornography. Disgust over Bridges’ actions is valid, but equating his crime with child predation is factually wrong and minimizes the severity of the other offenses.

One abused an adult partner; the other exploited children. There’s a massive difference.

He beat the tar out of the mother of his kids while the kids looked on.

IMO, he is totally unworthy of any employment that involves him being a public figure.

Man... the way some of you guys are minimizing this is getting truly disgusting. Sorry... this wasn't one person merely "abusing a partner." It was a GINORMOUS man ABUSING A WOMAN.

It means acknowledging that the person with the gavel saw everything in that sealed Pre-Sentence Investigation report, the complete truth we don’t have access to, and still deemed probation the appropriate sentence after consulting with the victim.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I know there is likely information I am not privy too when that decision was made.

Jason Kidd settled his situation with his wife but Colangelo found his actions abhorrent and shipped his ass out of here, even though it was not good for our on the court product. JC was applauded for his moral stance, and rightfully so.

Similarly, I find Ishbia's choice revolting.

I’m not here to play judge, jury, or executioner. Everyone is welcome to their own opinion.

Look, I’m not God, nor do I want to play Him.

Life is complicated and filled with gray areas especially concerning crimes such as assault and manslaughter.

I'll cheer for the Suns and leave judgement for someone else.

No one argues he shouldn’t be employed. But paying a guy millions of millions of dollars in a league where it’s a privilege to work is a little different. And despite his past actions he’ll garner adulation from adults for his ability to put a ball in a hoop. It’s just kind of gross.

I agree its gross. I wouldn't hire him, but it is tough thing. his children and their mother will benefit significantly from him making million as opposed to 20.00$ an hour.

"i'm sure" really means you are not. You don't know this to be true. You just know what has been in the press and as as far as I know there is no one anywhere claiming he fights about every cent of child support. I am not here to defend him, but also, speculation based upon supposition is not helpful. You say this, someone reads it and then passes it along as fact and that is how rumors become slander.

The known facts are bad enough.

i write about the suns a lot - i just enjoy it - i'll think about or come up with stuff i had no intention of - i'll start off talking about this - this turns into that - it's like thinking out loud with the ability to edit - freakin love it

i apologize because the hippie posts can get pretty lengthy - i try and keep the opinions fresh - i try to keep them pun packed - i hope they're atleast kind of interesting to read in the mornings but honestly they're more for me - i like to stretch the body and mind first thing everyday

why am i posting all this in a miles bridges thread? because i'll be writing about him a ish ton too - everything - from what he brings to what he lacks in helping this team get further in the post season

and i'm letting anyone who needs to hear it know - writing about miles bridges doesn't mean i condone what he did - period - and i'm not going to have the same conversation 80+ times - i'm not going to be put in some defend miles bridges position - it's not happening

when i write about miles during the season it will be about the basketball player - when i write about miles the violent felon it will be before/during/after the contract extension talks - and if he ****s up again i will be amongst the first demanding his dismissal

but for now i'm going to write about miles bridges the basketball player - particularly the power forward - i will do so with a clean conscience because i don't feel guilty writing about basketball at all - so please miss me when i do
