The Phoenix Suns are making a major offseason move by trading Grayson Allen and Royce O'Neale to the Charlotte Hornets for power forward Miles Bridges. News of the deal, which includes an exchange of draft picks, broke on June 28 and caused an immediate stir among NBA analysts and Suns fans on social media.

The Arizona Republic posted an informal survey last week on azcentral.com, asking readers a series of questions about the Bridges acquisition. For the most part, responses were unfavorable about the move.

The 6-7, 225-pound Bridges averaged 17.1 points and 5.8 rebounds a game last season for Charlotte. His season high was 35 on Nov. 29 in a win over Toronto. For his career, Bridges has averaged 15.9 points and 6.1 rebounds a game.

But Bridges, 28, brings controversy. He was involved in a domestic violence incident in 2022 with the mother of his children, for which the NBA imposed a 30-game suspension without pay in April 2023. He was initially charged with three felonies related to the incident. He pleaded no contest to a felony charge of injuring a child's parent and was sentenced to three years of probation and no jail time. The other two felony charges were dropped.

Here's a summary of our survey results, which drew slightly more than 150 responses:
