This year’s Moneyball Pro-Am will begin on Tuesday, June 23 at Holt High School. Games will be played on Tuesdays and Thursdays through July 30. There will not be games on June 30 and July 2.
As usual, no team can feature more than two MSU players. This year, the pairings are as follows:

Right about now you are probably asking yourself, “Who is Matthew Watkins?” Good question. Apparently, Tom Izzo recently gave one of the student-managers a spot on the team as a walk-on. You can read Matthew’s news here.
Speaking of Izzo, there is speculation that our coach has a say in which of his players get paired together for this event. It is noteworthy to me that our starting point guard is paired with the presumed backup center while the backup point guard is paired with the presumed starting center. I am not suggesting anyone read between the lines here, but I am also not saying not to.
One other interesting thing about the rosters (you can see the full rosters here), joining Coen Carr and Jesse McCulloch on Team Tristar is a certain K.J. Torbert. Torbert is going to be a freshman at Bowling Green this coming season. He was the 2025-26 Michigan Mr. Basketball winner after leading East Lansing High School to a state championship. Oh, and he is also the son of the 2000-01 Mr. Basketball winner and former Spartan, Kelvin Torbert. Look out for this team.
Absent from this year’s event is Kur Teng as well as Colin and Brennan Walton.
This tournament could not come at a better time for TOC Nation. We will finally have something to report on aside from the mess atop our university administration. We will post a weekly article recapping the two days of play from that week.
Let the games begin!
