METTER, Ga. (WSAV) — The Metter girls basketball team claimed the Region 3-A Division II championship with a win over Bryan County, 62-57, on Friday night at Metter High School.
The game was tied at 16 after the first quarter, but Metter started to create a lilttle separation in the second eight minutes.-
Coming down the stretch, Bryan County pulled within three, 58-55, with 1:18 remaining in the contest. However, Metter’s defense rose to the occassion forcing several turnovers to secure the victory.
Metter will play Johnson County, the No. 4 seed out of Region 5. Bryan County faces off against Georgia Military, the No. 3 seed out of Region 5.
