The New York Mets have a history of players at the World Baseball Classic not going well, with Edwin Diaz's infamous injury weighing on their minds years later.
But Francisco Lindor is a different case. He's been trying to get into the tournament and play for Team Puerto Rico. Javier Baez and Carlos Correa have been trying as well.
However, according to Mike Mayer of Metsmerized Online, the roster news on Lindor, Correa, and Baez was revealed, and unfortunately for the trio of stars, their hope to play for Team Puerto Rico won't be met, as none of the three will play in the WBC.

"Francisco Lindor will not be on Team Puerto Rico for the WBC," Mayer reports. "The last-minute efforts to secure coverage for him, Carlos Correa, and Javier Baez were unsuccessful."
None of these three stars will be able to play for Team Puerto Rico in the upcoming World Baseball Classic.
It's an unfortunate update for the trio of stars, but it wasn't a major surprise considering the insurance issues these players were facing.
Lindor, Correa, and Baez weren't the only players dealing with insurance issues, as other players have dealt with similar problems trying to join the WBC.

What makes this sting a lot more is that all three of these top stars would've been the leaders for Team Puerto Rico.
It's a tough update for Team Puerto Rico, as even one of these three would've been a huge addition to the roster. But none of these players will be suiting up for Team Puerto Rico for this year's tournament.
In what might have been the last chance for all three to play for Team Puerto Rico, insurance issues have led to the trio not getting coverage, forcing them to miss the WBC this year.
