Put Glennon in to see if the same problems continue. Glennon is a completely different type of QB than Bradford. If the same problems continue, you know it’s the staff. If we have an insane coaching staff, I don’t want them developing a 21 year old QB
if you want to find out if the problem is the QB you have to put in the same type of qb... a cerebral guy who makes his living reading the defense and throwing accurate passes...... Rosen is that guy.
Glennon is not as accurate...we would see lots of turnovers,...then folks who dont really understand would be saying "see there...he is doing worse than Bradford"
not to mention... its hard to think the rest of the team is gonna get jazzed up and start playing harder for Mike Glennon,...so you lose that benefit of making a change.
Rosen is not the same type of playmaker as Mayfield... but Bradford is very similar to Taylor when he is in the pocket...sans mobility... neither Taylor nor Bradford will make small window throws. which means if the WR is not wide the cluck open they are gonna check down. neither give their WR's the opportunity to fight for the ball... both guys play to protect the ball instead of playing to win the game.... also, neither Bradford nor Taylor are the type of QB to throw a guy open.... that means throwing the ball to a spot where the WR isn't so he has a chance to break away from the coverage and go get the ball.
Josh Rosen does both of those things. He will throw a guy open, and he will make small window throws. These were two of his best assets leading in to the draft. Glennon may do some of those as well...however, he has not shown the accuracy to do so effectively during his NFL career nor has he shown consistent decision making during live action.
count me in as one who would prefer Rosen get a full week of starter reps before being thrown to the wolves.... but make no mistake in the matter... we dont want to see Mike Glennon taking snaps unless Bradford, Rosen, and skinny Ronnie from sec 102 row 3 have all gone down
