Matthew Stafford will not practice with the Los Angeles Rams every day during training camp, but in his first outing of 2026, the veteran quarterback looked “pretty damn sharp” according to Sean McVay. With Stetson Bennett getting reps with the starters on Sunday, Stafford returned to the field—and returned to form—with a good first day of practice with the 1s.

Videos and appearances with Stafford were aplenty after Monday’s return to training camp. He was seen hanging out with rookie Ty Simpson.

Stafford’s presence will be critical to the success of the 2026 Rams and making sure that all the offseason additions were worth it. The drop-off between Stafford and his two backups could be steep.
Therefore, the quarterback won’t practice every day. But when he does, you’ll know it.
