Matt LaFlaur is setting a firm standard for commitment on Jordan Love and the Green Bay Packers squad as they gear up for the 2026 NFL season.
LaFleur has been the Packers’ head coach since 2019, preparing for his eighth year at the helm. He led the squad to six playoff appearances in seven attempts, the deepest being the NFC Championship Game in his first two seasons.
LaFleur hopes for better results in 2026, having suffered back-to-back exits from the NFC Wild Card Round. As the team goes through training camp this summer, the head coach had a clear demand for the starters on both sides of the ball ahead of their preseason contests.
“Anybody that’s healthy better be ready to play,” LaFleur said, per reporter Rob Demovsky.

Matt LaFleur has garnered criticism with how Green Bay has underperformed in the playoffs throughout past season. This season will be important as it tests his future with the franchise as the head coach.
As for Jordan Love, this will be his fourth year as the starting quarterback for LaFleur. He anticipates a big season for himself, having completed 291 passes for 3,381 yards and 23 touchdowns and six interceptions in 2025.
The Packers will attempt to improve on their 9–7–1 record from the year before. Not only that, but they also intend to make the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season and end their four-year NFC North title drought.
Green Bay begins its preseason against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Aug. 13 at 7 p.m. ET. After two more preseason games, their regular season starts on the road against the Minnesota Vikings on Sept. 13 at 4:25 p.m. ET.
