The first hole-in-one of the week at Augusta National goes to Shane Lowry.
Lowry was absolutely perfect from the tee box at the par-3 sixth on Saturday afternoon. His tee shot landed right in the center of the green, hopped twice and rolled right into the cup.
Naturally, Lowry erupted back on the tee box.
That got Lowry to 8-under on the day, which pushed him into a tie for second place at the time. He still trailed leader Rory McIlroy, who started the day with a six-shot lead, by four.
That was the seventh hole-in-one all-time at the sixth hole at Augusta National. It also marked Lowry’s second career ace at the Masters.
