Isn't Harrison like 31 or 32 already?

All they're liable for is the signing bonus. For example, if he retires after 4 years the only cap hit is the last 3 years of the $22 mil signing bonus. Doesn't really hurt to resign a start player to a long term deal if you set yourself up to be able to deal with the cap hit that ensues when he leaves.

My point is that even if Harrison can't last the extra 10 years that Rice has, I certainly believe he can play well into his late 30's. Harrison trains extremely hard, too. He may not have Rice's longevity when all is said and done, but he could easily last another 6-7 years for sure.....

Watching the Colts offense this year it's not like anyone is hitting their recievers anyway.

Great point.

Harrison is WELL worth that contract. I was thinking he would recieve a larger contract. Not in years but money money money!!! He is Top3 reciever.

I think that was a horrible move by Indy. James is way more valuable than Harrison. I would have let him and his attitude walk.

He's complaining about his touches, yet they're having an outstanding season.
Meanwhile, Sir Bitchalot is third in yardage on the Colts, fourth in average. Sure, he's leading hall of famers like Stokley and Wayne in total catches, but he personally is easily replaced.

I'm sure the move will HELP them keep James, not make it harder to resign him.

As for his attitude, I'm sure as long as Peyton wants him, he'll be there. Now that's a contract that could be an albatross.

Good for them that they got one of them resigned so they can tag the other, but I would have used that money on defense, without question.

And, if Peyton agreed with you, he would've been gone.

Much ado about nothing. You shouldn't opine so vociferously on subjects where you're on the outside looking in.
