If I were casting:

Thor: Kevin McKidd or Brad Pitt

Cpt America: Paul Walker or Ryan Phillippe
What? Brad Pitt as Thor? You're on crack. Also, if Paul walker is cast as Cap, I might boycott the movie. He's terrible. ...Terrible!

I could see Pitt as Cap, though. But he no-brainer for Cap, IMO, is Matt Damon.

Thor is tougher to cast. I bet they get a relative unknown. I have to imagine there are tons of buff & blonde actors out there.

Damon already has the one big franchise he is tied to I just don't see him going for a second one.

Remember Pitt as Troy? Big, buff, blonde. Check, check, check.

I hope they do not go for a huge unknown ala Superman. That dude was awful. There is more than looking the part.

How about Dominic Purcell? He was Link on Prison Break if you aren't sure who he is.

I do, he's not buff enough for Thor. That actor needs to be a giant of a man.

You also forgot one last "check" re: Pitt: Fighting with a shield? Check. (he'd be a WAY better cap than thor)

Paul Levesque or better known at HHH. I hate the thought, but I think he will at least get a look.

I think they have to go younger for Capt America, Pitt is already in his 40's and Damon is in his late 30's. If they do Cap from the beginning they have to cast someone in their younger 20's or someone that can at least pass for that age.

Oh and Paul Walker is terrible...

I AM in a world of [Thor].

I just can't see Vince rocking it.

Thor'd be a really tough cast. Gotta be a mountain with range...

a mountain range?

I'm excited, but worried.
I still remember the Captain America movie from the 90's.

That's not bad. I envision someone younger. But, not bad.

I imagine they'll have great actors banging down the door to play Loki. That'd be a great role for someone.

You guys that are happy about his, are you call comic book fans?

The reason I ask is because I'm the only person in my circle of friends that never really read Comic Books. Everytime one of these movies comes out, we all get all amped up at the commercials, we go buy tickets, sit through the movie, and every time, I'm the ONLY one of us that liked the movie.

I haven't read the comics, so I just take the move at what it is. All my comic reading buddies bitch and complain the whole way home, and for the next 2 weeks after cause the story wasn't like it was in the comic books. Do those of you that read the comics really think you're going to like these movies?

I'm excited, I'll see every movie on that list, and I'll probably like them all.

I might be the biggest comic book geek you'll ever meet. I've liked the movies more than most people I know.

The movies are usually passable, if not good, but we've got an emotional involvement with the characters and usually spend years watching them develop, for better or worse. Hard to take what we consider the "best" of the characters and boil it down to 2 hours.

Rarely, we'll get scenes that are lifted that were great comic moments.
Example, the Punisher movie took a great scene from War Journal of the Punisher faux-torturing an informant with steak, a Popsicle, and a blow torch.
In the comics it was one of the greatest moments ever. In the movie it fell a little flat for me. Couldn't tell ya why, it just did.

Wizard Magazine's "Casting Call" for a Thor Movie (pretty old...)

http://www.immortalthor.net/castingcall.html

That is old. I remember those. I can't believe someone took the time to put it on the web. Dedicated.

Then take your stab. Be careful though, geeks can be brutal.
