Bowie = Williams? No?
This better be the kind of smoke screen like that that you could emit from your car in the game Spy Hunter back in the 80's.

-Thinks it's a long shot to trade up to #2.
-Denny and organisation likes VY.
-If they went up to #2 it would be for Young.
-Cardinals thinking Cutler, Huff or Sims avaliable at #10.
-If Lienart is avaliable 'they would run up to the podium'.
-In love with Vernon Davis - but wouldn't go up to #2 to do it.
-Cards don't think Brick's would be avaliable.
-Would go D at #10 unless someone slips or a QB is avaliable.

good god I feel sorry for these poor guys. It reminds me of the Johnson/Pace pick a couple years ago when we could've had Suggs or Leftwich.

Evil Ash said:If they were using the draft chart, not really. Its insanely expensive to move up to Number 1
For example, The Jets have to trade both their Number 1 picks (4 & 29) as well as a high 3rd rounder just to move up to Number 2. There is about a 200 point difference between Number 1 and Number 2 so somebody would have to give up more than that. That wasn't likely to happen

Shane H said:I disagree. But we shall see. I dont see people rushing to buy tickets for a QB that has lost a lot of the luster from his Jr. year at USC, has a history of shoulder problems, and wont be playing for as long as 2 years.
kerouac9 said:This is insane. First, we all know that Warner's likely to miss a start or two due to injury, and I have no doubt that Leinart will beat out Navarre in camp for the #2 job. Second "lost a lot of the luster from his Junior season"? Where is this even coming from? The guy lost two games in three years, and lost his last game because his defense couldn't stop one guy and Pete Carroll went in to full-on choke mode.
Leinart will sell 10K Cardinals jerseys overnight and the excitement he'd bring to the franchise would be immense. All those SoCal transplants living in the Valley? A ton of them are former Trojans.

I don't care what Casserly says, it all came down to who would sign the cheapest deal. Mike Mamula , er, Mario Williams wasn't even a dominant player in college but at least he had a nice combine. He was very good but by no means dominant. Reggie Bush had to be accounted for everywhere he was on the field and usually by more than one person. You don't come across guys like that very often. And to pass on him for a guy who's career stats, and i'm guessing here, are probably similar to Calvin Pace's, is downright ludicrous. Can you imagine if this was the Cards doing? Maybe the Texans should draft Mike Kudla in round 2 because he bench pressed alot at the combine.
