Marcus Mariota got the start at quarterback for the Commanders on Friday night, but his night came to an early end.
Mariota left the game during Washington's first offensive possession and went to the sideline medical tent. Mariota went to the locker room a short time later.
Mariota's departure came after a play that saw him hand the ball off to Kaytron Allen, but he took a hit while delivering a pass on the previous play. Reports from the game say Mariota appeared to be gesturing to his knee.
Sam Hartman took over at quarterback for the Commanders. Rookie Athan Kaliakmanis is the other available quarterback with Jayden Daniels taking the night off.
