The Toronto Maple Leafs are going to have plenty to consider this offseason.
And while Auston Matthews will be a popular topic of conversation, there's one position where a move feels more fully necessary: goalie.
The Maple Leafs probably have too much goalie depth. And while injuries can change things quickly, it doesn't make sense for Toronto to hold too tightly onto all their goaltenders.
The guy who will be involved in a lot of rumors is Anthony Stolarz, and that includes a new one circulating on Leafs social media.
This is the post with a fascinating idea:

There will be some Toronto fans who don't want to trade draft picks away, and maybe there's a way to avoid that.
But the reality is the Maple Leafs are going to have to make some moves with conviction this offseason. There's no use for half measures. They need a full turnaround, and while they have some talent, there's still so much for them to improve upon.
Maybe this isn't exactly how it shapes up for Toronto, but the point is clear. The Maple Leafs can use their goalie depth to improve elsewhere. That'll be a path worth considering, for sure.
